In Memoriam
Often in the wake of a loss, those grieving look for a way to honor their loved one’s memory. This is also the case with pet owners and animal lovers, so In Memoriam donations are something we see at Journey Home on a regular basis. Such donations can be given in memory of a pet, but some of our most impactful donations are also given in memory of animal lovers. Many animal lovers are not shy about causes that are important to them, such as spay and neuter or the care of kittens. In these cases, their families may want to donate directly to the funds for our facility that handle those precise concerns. Such allocations can allow those departments the financial flexibility to say yes in cases where they may not have had the resources in years past.
Legacy Giving
Some donors prefer to handle their own allocations to causes close to their heart, long before such allocations have to be made. For organizations like Journey Home Animal Care Center, the moment a donor adds us to their will is one that
guarantees our nonprofit a strong future. Gifts can be made in dollar amounts, but some donors opt for percentages of their assets instead. Many nonprofits also accept cars as gifts when a donor has passed away! Safe to say, the options for those hoping to leave a lasting legacy with their donations at Journey Home are numerous and flexible.
At Journey Home, we prioritize making the best use of donor gifts in order to care for our animals and facility. By putting such gifts towards our long term goals like paying off our building and an emergency fund, JHACC can continue making progress on other projects our community values highly and reacting swiftly to emergency situations.
