Heather Grant
Executive Director

Heather Grant -Executive Director Heather Grant has worked in animal welfare for the past 20 years. Her passion started at an early age, when Heather saw a need for leadership in her community for animal welfare. Heather has been the executive director of Rifle Animal Shelter for the last fifteen years. In 2006, she graduated as a Certified Veterinary Technician from Colorado Mountain College. After graduating she worked as a veterinary technician for a short time but then soon realized her heart belonged to the Rifle Animal Shelter. Heather is the president for WeCARe, a regional coalition for animal shelters and rescues. She also serves as the President of Animal Welfare Association of Colorado a statewide coalition for animal welfare, shelters and animal control within our state. She is an advocate for the positive growth of animal welfare in the community. Heather has worked tirelessly to build Rifle Animal Shelter into a community resource for surrounding areas and is a large reason for the success of the organization thus far. Heather lives in Rifle with her family of both two and four legged members. During her free-time she enjoys spending time with her children, boating, hiking and camping.
Brittany Van Teylingen
Director of Shelter Operations

Brittany Van Teylingen - Director of Shelter Operations Brittany Van Teylingen has worked for RIfle Animal Shelter since January 2013. Brittany has worked in many positions from Shelter Manager to Finance Director. Brittany has been the Director of Shelter Operations since July 2020. Brittany is responsible for the daily operations and management of the animal shelter, including front desk operations, animal care and placement, and the enrichment and evaluation of our shelter animals. Before joining Rifle Animal Shelter, Brittany worked as the community service officer for Rifle Police Department. In her free time Brittany likes to spend time with her family and go riding on her side by side. Brittany is originally from St. Charles, Illinois and is a graduate of the University of Phoenix. Brittany earned her Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice Administration and an Associates degree in Business Management. Brittany is an active community member and currently sits on the School Board for Garfield 16 School District. Brittany is a proud mom of three little kids and three Rifle Animal Shelter alumni Mya, Molly, and Lula.

Kalli Wilson
Director of Development

Kalli Wilson – Development Director Kalli is a Colorado native that has overseen the development program at Rifle Animal Shelter for 4 years and is an active member of the community. A career of purpose and being involved with the local community has been a passion of Kalli’s her entire life. Her love of animals, and improving their lives as well as the lives of their people has driven her to work tirelessly in this career path. She has led the effort in creating and building the Foster, Volunteer and Development programs as well as writing grants at Rifle Animal Shelter. She believes in the positive growth of the community and seeks to be an active part of that, after seeing outside communities, she appreciates the strength and growth that the local community showcases. Kalli participates on committees to bring both animal welfare education and philanthropy education to the state of Colorado. An adventurous wife and mother, Kalli enjoys all things involved in the great outdoors and spending precious time with her family and four-legged family members.
